Requiring a Site Safety Card
We recommend New Zealand contractors require a valid Site Safety Card:
- to enter a building site, and
- as a prerequisite when submitting a tender.
Workers can get a Site Safety Card by completing one of our courses.
Why require a Site Safety Card?
If a worker has a Site Safety Card, you know they have a solid health and safety foundation. Requiring a Site Safety Card is a quick, easy way to ensure that everyone on site can keep themselves and others safe.
How it works
Workers earn their first Site Safety Card by completing a Site Safe Foundation course.
Every 2 years, workers will need to complete one of our foundation plus courses to renew their foundation Site Safety Card – or they can choose a technical or leadership course.
