Gender-perceived workplace stressors by New Zealand construction professionals

Overview

This Massey University study found discrepancies in perception and response to work-related stressors between male and female professionals in the New Zealand construction industry. Females have higher qualifications but report less work experience and technical skills. They exhibit varied perceptions of stressors such as role conflict and gender discrimination. The study advocates for industry-wide initiatives to address gender imbalances, including equitable practices, parental leave, education, mentorship, and support for mental health.
